ABOUT
Soko exists because too many shops run their till in one app and their stock in a spreadsheet that never quite matches.
Soko is a POS and business management platform built for East African businesses. It combines POS, inventory, customers, suppliers, reporting and other operations in one cloud web app. It is designed around local workflows, including M-Pesa and other East African payment methods, and KES, UGX, and TZS. Workflows, receipts and data-entry can be configured inside Soko, with optional hands-on implementation and onsite engineering from Origami Tech. Soko is not the cheapest accounting product, not the broadest enterprise ERP, not an accounting-first replacement for QuickBooks, and not offline-capable — the till needs internet.
Soko is the product.
Soko Technologies Ltd operates the product.
Origami Tech is the parent technology company (merchant of record for subscriptions).
Soko is built and operated by Soko Technologies Ltd, part of Origami Tech. We build for retail shops, wholesale counters, multi-branch stores, and small manufacturers in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania — businesses that need a fast till, accurate stock, and local payment methods in one product, not three.
Point of sale and inventory management should be the same system, not two apps that need manual reconciliation. Software for East African businesses should support M-Pesa, Airtel Money, and local currencies natively — not as an afterthought bolted onto a product built for another market. Origami Tech has years of field deployments of operational software in actual shops and warehouses; Soko is configured around those realities. See how implementation works and why POS and inventory should be one system.
